Privacy Policy

Effective October 21, 2026 • Version 2026-10-21

This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of Parentice ("Parentice," "we," "us" or "our") handles information in the app, on this website and when you contact us. Parentice is an AI-powered parenting practice app for parents and caregivers, with practice scenarios focused on children ages 2 to 5. The app is for the caregiver to use, not for a child to chat with AI.

1. Information and purposes

Information you provide. Parentice processes onboarding answers, caregiver details, child profiles (such as name, birthday, gender and pronouns), family circumstances, practice choices, free-text answers, conversations, saved memories and Playbook entries. These support age-relevant practices, personalized replies, progress and the plans you choose to save. Only provide information about other people that you have authority to share. Avoid unnecessary identifying or sensitive details about a child or another person.

Account and purchase information. You can sign in using an email verification code or Sign in with Apple. Parentice processes your email address, account identifier, sign-in provider, session credentials and, when supplied by Apple, your name and authorization information to authenticate you and maintain your session. Apple processes App Store payments. Parentice sends verified purchase and transaction information to its service to verify subscription status, restore purchases and administer allowances. This includes transaction and product identifiers, signed Apple transaction evidence and the associated account identifier. Parentice does not receive your full payment-card number.

Technical information. Requests to services can include IP addresses, account or request identifiers, app version, timestamps, response status, errors and usage measurements. These support delivery, troubleshooting, security, abuse prevention and usage allowances. Technical logs and usage records have no scheduled automatic deletion and are retained by Parentice, subject to applicable deletion obligations.

2. AI processing and your permission

Parentice uses OpenAI for AI processing. With your explicit permission, messages, relevant family details, practice context, recent conversation context, summaries and relevant saved memories may be sent through Parentice’s service to OpenAI to recommend practices, interpret your responses and generate personalized replies or reflections. Not every saved item is needed for every request.

Before this sharing begins, the app presents an AI data notice. Opening this policy or accepting the Terms of Use does not itself provide AI-sharing consent. You can decline, or withdraw permission in Settings → AI data use. Withdrawal stops future AI sharing; features that need that processing are unavailable until permission is enabled again. It does not undo completed processing or automatically erase information already retained by a service provider.

Chat history and saved memories are held on your device, and memories are not synced across devices. That does not mean AI processing happens entirely on your device: generating a response requires online processing of relevant context.

OpenAI’s published API policy says API content is not used to train its models by default unless the customer opts in. This is separate from retention: provider safety logs and application state may still be retained. Parentice does not promise zero retention by AI service providers. See OpenAI’s API data controls.

3. Feedback, photos and support

Feedback includes your selected topic and message, with one optional photo and an optional reply email. When you submit, the app sends these details, your account identifier, app version and platform information to our services for support. An attached photo is uploaded first, and its file reference is then included in the feedback submission. Chats are not automatically attached. The app clears the local draft only after the service acknowledges the submission; an error leaves the draft available for retry. If the photo upload succeeds but the later submission fails, the uploaded photo may already be held by our service even though the feedback is not confirmed. Removing a local draft or attachment does not delete an already uploaded copy; contact us to request deletion.

Photos submitted with feedback will not be used to train AI models. This includes training or fine-tuning models for Parentice or third parties. Permission to handle an attachment for support does not grant permission to use it for AI training.

Feedback photos are for understanding the issue you report and handling the support request. They are separate from the AI conversation context described above. Choose an image that shows the problem and remove unnecessary personal details, especially a child’s face, name or location. You may replace or remove an attachment before sending. You can also contact us by email; the email and any attachments will be handled as support correspondence.

4. Sharing and service providers

Relevant information is processed by OpenAI for the AI features you authorize, by Apple for App Store purchases and platform services, and by the service providers needed to host, secure and deliver Parentice and handle support. We may disclose information when legally required, to respond to valid legal process, or as reasonably necessary to protect people and the service. Any business transfer involving personal information must remain subject to applicable privacy protections and notice requirements.

5. Storage, retention and deletion

On your device. Profiles, onboarding information, practices, chats, summaries, memories, Playbook content, preferences and feedback drafts are stored locally. You can manage them using the available app controls. The local data-deletion action removes those local records and attachments. It preserves identity, purchase evidence and limited settlement records, and does not cancel subscriptions or delete remote records.

AI requests. AI requests are processed online through Parentice’s service and OpenAI. Parentice’s service does not persist raw AI request bodies or complete chat histories. It processes the messages and relevant context supplied by the app to generate a response. To support retries and recovery, the service stores AI response results, which may include replies, summaries and suggested memories. When a subsequent AI request triggers cleanup, the service deletes the stored result bodies of completed or failed requests whose creation time is more than 24 hours earlier. This is not a scheduled deletion exactly at the 24-hour mark: cached results may remain longer until cleanup runs. Execution metadata and operational logs are not deleted by this cleanup and have no scheduled automatic deletion, subject to applicable deletion obligations. This cleanup does not delete records held by OpenAI or copies in backups; OpenAI’s retention is described separately below.

OpenAI. Under its published default controls, abuse-monitoring content may be retained for up to 30 days, subject to legal and safety exceptions. Some API features retain application state separately. The actual duration depends on the endpoint, request settings and account controls. We do not claim zero retention.

Support and purchases. Feedback text and uploaded photos have no fixed retention period and are not automatically deleted. We retain them indefinitely and may remove them if server storage capacity is reached, subject to applicable legal requirements. Support correspondence, purchase and security records are retained without a scheduled automatic deletion period. Purchase and security records may need to be retained to verify entitlements, prevent fraud or comply with law. You can contact us to exercise applicable deletion rights; we will explain any lawful retention exception.

6. Your choices and rights

You can limit what you provide, edit available profile fields, remove a feedback photo before sending, change AI permission and use local data-management controls. You can request deletion of your server account through the account-deletion control in Settings → Account. Account deletion is separate from clearing local app data. Records retained to meet legal obligations, verify purchases or prevent fraud may be kept where permitted by law. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription or automatically erase records held independently by service providers. Do not treat local deletion, signing out or uninstalling as confirmation that remote records were erased. Contact us for an access, correction or deletion request.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, withdraw consent, restrict or object to processing, or appeal a privacy-request decision. Email us with your request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity or authority; an authorized agent may act where permitted by law. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any lawful limitation. You may contact the relevant privacy regulator, and exercising your rights will not result in unlawful discrimination.

7. Information about children

Parentice’s intended users are parents and caregivers. We recognize that their entries can contain children’s personal information; describing the app as caregiver-facing does not make those entries nonpersonal. Provide only what is needed and only when you are authorized. If you believe a child has directly provided information through the service, or that a child’s information was shared without authority, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

8. This website

The website’s sample practice runs in your browser using fixed written choices. It does not call AI or send your sample answers to Parentice. This version does not use analytics scripts, advertising pixels, cookies or browser storage. The home page loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives network request information such as your IP address; see Google’s Privacy Policy. Website hosting providers may process access and security logs. Following external links is subject to the destination’s policies. Email links open your email app; nothing is sent until you send it.

9. Security and international processing

No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect access to your device and avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information. Information sent to service providers may be processed outside the country where you live, including in the United States.

10. Changes

We will update the version and date when this policy changes. Material changes to processing will receive notice, and we will obtain additional consent where required before carrying them out.

11. Contact
